It is a week of magic in an idyllic bush setting. Bush walks, Nature trails, Waterfalls, Glow-worms, Petanque, Croquet, Kayaking, Flying fox, Happy hours, Communal dinners, BBQ picnic, etc, or just enjoy the solitude. Canoes and life jackets are a short stroll away by the safe canal. At the end of each day we gather for happy hour; bring drinks and enjoy some finger food to compliment stories and anecdotes.
Ngatuhoa Lodge is a youth camp in the Kaimai Mamaku Forest Park native bush south of Tauranga. The Lodge is a restored mill site and has comfortable bunks, a large dining-room with fireplace, and fully equipped kitchen with microwave, gas cookers and ovens. An outside building houses a barbecue, pantry, and a large walk-in fridge. There is a modern ablution block with hot showers and flush toilets. Electric power is supplied from a small hydro installation nearby.

Bring in all your own food and drink. If you are with us on Monday evening we enjoy a communal meal; the 'chefs' will fire up the barbecues and ovens to cook your favourite meat brought in with you; we supply some crispy chips, peas/salad, gravy, sauces and dessert, BYO wine. Mid week have a barbecue serving BBQ sausages and nibbles, followed with a casual sports, bring your own sunscreen and drinks. On Friday night we serve an all inclusive communal roast pork or lamb dinner followed by pavlova and ice cream.
Ngatuhoa Lodge is about 23Km from SH29. The last 9Km is along private unsealed forestry road that passes through two locked gates, generally in good condition, but with several short steep narrow sections. There is plenty of room for tents, and a few camper-vans, but the road is not suitable for caravans.
